Roland, Gene

Routch, Bobby (Robert) (n 12 août 1948). Américain. Né à Lock Haven. Ses parents sont professeurs de musique. Routch débute le cor à 10 ans à Allentown. Il est un étudiant d’Oberlin College et de la Juilliard School. A 17 ans, il joue le Concerto no1 de Richard Strauss avec le Philadelphia Orchestra. Il a joué dans l’American Symphony dirigé par Leopold Stokowski, les orchestres symphoniques de Kansas City et New Orleans, le Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Mingus Big Band, Gerry Mulligan and his Rebirth of the Cool, son Walden Horn Trio (Ani Kavafian, vln, Anne-Marie McDermott, p), son quartet Confluence. Professeur à la Manhattan School (à partir de 1988). Butch Lacy lui a dédié un Concerto. Il a joué un cor Walter Lawson, Steve Lewis et l’embouchure Farkas/Schilke. Influencé par Dennis Brain, John Barrows, David Amram et John Clark.
