Pollack, Ben

Américain. Né à Chicago, décédé à Palm Spring. Batteur. Expérience : NORK, son orch. (à partir de 1925). Jouait un peu de tp, mais en faisait surtout collection (une a appartenue à Harry James). ‘[photo showing] Ben Pollack donating a cornet he claimed to have belonged to Bix Beiderbecke. Turned out it wasn’t…then Ben said he played one very similar to that one. He had horns mounted on wooden plaques all around his « Pic-A-Rib » club, with the names of the players they allegedly belonged to’ (Scott Black, Oct. 21, 2012), ‘I knew he had a trumpet that supposedly belonged to Harry James’ (Hal Smith, Oct. 21, 2012).
